    Short version: Aidova stores everything on your device only. We collect no personal data, have no accounts, use no tracking, and never show ads. The only third party involved is Stripe, for payment processing.
  

1. Who We Are

Aidova is an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app developed by JMC Collective Ltd, a company registered in England. Aidova helps non-verbal and minimally verbal children and adults communicate using symbols, images and text-to-speech.

2. What Data We Collect

Data stored on your device only

Aidova stores the following data locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to our servers:

App settings (dark mode, button size, voice preference, colours)
Custom buttons you create (labels, emojis, photos you upload)
Hidden and reordered button preferences
Profile names and avatars
Visual schedule items
Carer PIN (stored locally, never transmitted)
Emergency contact phone number (stored locally only)
Voice recordings you create (stored locally only)
Subscription status (verified via Stripe, stored as a local flag)

Payment data (Stripe)

If you purchase a Premium or Premium Plus subscription, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data: stripe.com/privacy

We receive only a Stripe session ID to verify your subscription. We do not receive or store your full name, card number, or billing address.

Data we do NOT collect

We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information
We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs
We do not use cookies
We do not collect usage data or crash reports
We do not share any data with third parties (except Stripe for payment processing)

3. Children's Privacy

Aidova is designed for use by non-verbal children and adults. We take children's privacy extremely seriously.

Because all data is stored locally on the device and we collect no personal information, Aidova complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and UK GDPR requirements relating to children's data.

Parents and carers are in full control of all data on the device. No data about children is ever transmitted to our servers.

4. How We Use Data

The data stored on your device is used solely to:

Remember your app settings between sessions
Store the custom buttons and schedule you have created
Verify that you have an active Premium subscription

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond providing the app's features.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party, with the sole exception of Stripe for payment processing as described above.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

All data is stored on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by:

Using Settings → Factory Reset within the app
Clearing your browser or app data through your device settings
Uninstalling the app

We hold no data on our servers relating to individual users, so there is nothing for us to delete on our end.

7. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

As a UK-based company, we comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation. Because we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, most GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are exercised directly on your device.

8. Security

All data is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's own security. We recommend enabling a screen lock on any device used with Aidova, especially when used by a child.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
