Aidova is an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app designed from the ground up for people who find communication difficult. Accessibility is not an afterthought — it is the entire purpose of the app.
Aidova is committed to making communication accessible to everyone — regardless of age, ability, language, or device. We design every feature with the user's needs first, not the technology.
We actively seek feedback from families, carers, teachers, speech and language therapists, and adults who use AAC to continuously improve the accessibility of the app.
All communication buttons are large, well-spaced, and easy to tap — even for users with limited motor control.
Black background with vivid colour borders for maximum visibility. Designed for users with visual sensitivity.
Small, Normal and Large button sizes to suit different users and screen sizes.
Reduces eye strain, especially for night-time use or users with light sensitivity.
Professional teal theme with square buttons — designed for teenagers and adults. Avoids childish aesthetics for adult users.
All buttons speak aloud using clear, natural voices. Male and female voice options available.
Record a familiar voice for any button — in any language. Particularly valuable for children who respond better to a parent's voice.
All button phrases can be customised to any language, supporting multilingual families and communities.
No internet connection required. Works in hospitals, schools, cars, and anywhere else — reducing barriers to access.
Animated breathing guide to support emotional regulation during overwhelming moments or meltdowns.
Clear visual countdown to support transitions — particularly helpful for autistic users who need predictability.
Daily schedule with emoji and photo support to reduce anxiety around routine and transitions.
Aidova is used in special schools, mainstream schools with SEN units, speech and language therapy sessions, occupational therapy, care homes, and day centres.
We are continuously improving Aidova. Current known limitations include:
If you require any of these features, please contact us — user needs directly shape our development roadmap.
We actively want to hear from users, carers, therapists and educators about how we can improve accessibility. If you encounter any accessibility barriers, or if there is a feature that would make Aidova more useful for you or someone you support, please get in touch.
